Brooke Park

LONGSTANDING Brooke Park Bowling Club member and Match Secretary Mr Michael Fahy will have the honour of being the President of Northern Ireland Provincial Bowling Association in 2013; the last time the club held this honour was back in 1998 when Jimmy Hagan was in office.

It is a once in a life-time opportunity within the game of bowls for any man to hold this honour but also it is a once in every 15 years opportunity for our small club to highlight itself to the community at this level; involved with this honour is unfurling the flag to highlight the start of the new bowling season, in attendance at this will be British Isles President Mr Brian Morton, the Mayor Cllr Mr Kevin Campbell, Irish Bowling Association President Mr Ronnie Blair as well as the Presidents and Secretaries of the other four bowling Associations in Ireland.

The club will also host the NIPBA Championships semi-finals and finals and the hosting of the three major cup finals within the NIPBA; all these have been sponsored by City of Culture 2013 and the governing body of the NIPBA will also meet in Brooke Park for the very first time on Wednesday, March 20.
