Brook's Flights claim the spoils in the Floyd's Cup

IT was cup action this week as teams from the Triangle Darts League took part in the Floyd's Cup.

In the first round Floyd's Ladies B had a bye with Floyd's Ladies A taking on The Forge. There was some excellent darts by both teams with A Boyd scoring 2x180 in his game against J Elder, who hit scores of 100 and 140.

Although the ladies scored well they couldn't match The Forge who ran out 4-0 winners in the end.

In the second game the Legion took on Brook's Flights, who eased into a 2-0 lead thanks to J Watt and A Martin. M Barr pulled a game back with an excellent 140 checkout (T20, T20, D10), but Brook's grabbed the final game to seal a 3-1 win.In the last game of the first round Sperrin faced Brook's A with M Sweeney putting the Sperrin in front. However Brook's fought back to take the win 3-1 thanks to K Scanlon, G Friel and D Morrow.

In the semi finals The Forge proved to be too strong for Floyd's Ladies B winning 4-0 to book their place in the final.

It was the battle of the Brook in the other semi as the Flights took on Brook's A, but the Flights once again proved too strong for their opponents winning 3-1 in the end.

The Forge got off to the perfect start in the final as A Boyd beat J Watt 2-0. A Martin levelled things up as he checked out in 16 darts against J Evangalista. D McDonald gave Brook's the advantage for the first time leaving D Boyd needing a win to force the game into a tie-breaker. But G Martin showed his worth by winning his game and sealing the victory for Brook's.
