Brown placed on the transfer list

The club says the Limavady man failed to turn up for last weekend's match against Linfield and even though the game was postponed the big centre-forward still failed to report to Drumahoe.

Chairman Trevor Hewitt said: "Unfortunately Paul failed to report to the ground at 1.30pm with the rest of the players and because of that we have suspended him without pay and have also placed him on the transfer list."

Meanwhile the Drumahoe side travel to Cliftonville tomorrow and boss John Gregg is delighted that his side will be back playing football.

"It has been a frustrating time with all our matches being postponed because of the weather, but hopefully that is now all behind us and we can get back to playing football," he said.

"We know things are going to be tough at Cliftonville because they are a quality side, in fact they are a team who I believe can challenge for the title.

"In nearly every department they are strong, so if we want to get anything then we'll have to be at our best and fight for everything."

'Stute who have lost the likes of Mark Scoltock, Stephen Parkhouse, Ryan McCreadie, Austin Friel, Thomas Bonnar and Liam McMenamin since the transfer window open are now without Brown, but Gregg believes in the young players in his squad.

"Players like Joe McCready, Conor Deane and Jason Blackburn are going to get more games in the next few weeks, while David McClements has a chance of starting against Cliftonville.

"He's a quality player who likes to take defenders on and will be a super addition to the squad, people have to remember that last season he was on the bench with Sheffield Wednesday and also played in a few Carling Cup games, so he's a good player.

"Ruairi Boyle should also been back in the squad, while on the plus side James Quigley should start training this Monday night."
