The Aghadowey Cup better known as the “Claret Jug” was played for at the weekend with good scoring again in the good conditions weather-wise.
Trevor Cupples (20) ran out a comfortable winner with a fine score of 44 points. completing the first nine in five over for 24 points he added another 20 the highlight of Trevor’s round was a chip in for a two at the difficult second hole to win by two from runner-up Tom Boyd (9) After opening with a level par front nine for 22 points and a back nine of three over for 20 Toms round included birdies at holes 8 and 10.
For the second week in a row Martin Coyle (9) took the third prize on offer with nines of 18 and 21 with birdies at holes 3 and 11 contributing to his total finishing off in style with four pars. Martin and Trevor shared the twos kitty with the only twos in the competition.
