Buller shines again for Hitech at Rockingham

WILL Buller secured his third top five finish of the weekend in the final Cooper Tires British F3 International Series race at Rockingham.

Will set impressive lap times early on to run behind James Caladoon but was unable to find a way ahead of the Carlin man. A mistake for Jazeman Jaafar ahead allowed Will through into fifth place and he then made a move on Adriano Buzaid for fourth at the Tarzan hairpin only for his Brazilian rival to force him off track onto the grass.

That allowed a recovering Webb through into fifth but a fine move down the inside at Deene on the penultimate lap saw Will reclaim the place and his third fifth place finish of the weekend on home soil.

"I made an average start and could see there was trouble ahead on the straight before we even got to the corner," he said.

"I took it easy and went down the inside to avoid everything and was able to make it through. We lacked a bit of straight-line speed which meant I couldn't make a move on Calado and then when I came up behind Buzaid, I went round the outside at the hairpin and was ahead and he just came over on me and pushed me onto the grass.

"That put me behind Webb but I was determined to get through and another fifth place is a good result. The team has worked hard all weekend to improve after we struggled in testing, and from ninth and eleventh after qualifying, I can be happy with my results."

Team boss Ryan Sharp added, "Will also got hit but managed to keep going although he couldn't get ahead of the cars in front until he made the move on Buzaid and got pushed wide. He did well to get back ahead of Webb after that and its three good points finishes from him.

“It's now what we wanted from the weekend, but it's important to make sure you score points on the bad days."
