Busy time for Fit N Running athletes

Fit N Running athletes have been busy over the past week with their runners finishing well up the field in various events.

Mark McKinstry claimed a 4th place finish at the 3rd race of the East Antrim Harriers 4 race forest series.

In form Mark clipped over 2mins of his time on the same Tardree forest course from last year when he finished in 19mins 49secs.

The final event is next Tuesday at Woodburn Forest with Mark well placed to secure a top three finish in the overall standings.

ANTRIM FIVE MILE RACE

Mark was in action again on Friday evening at the second staging of the Antrim 5mile race. Again he finished well up the field in 5th place in 28mins 42secs from an overall entry of 89 runners.

WATERWORKS PARKRUN

James Wallace secured another personal best performance when he claimed an impressive 4th place at the Waterworks 5k Parkrun when he finished in 18mins 47secs. The in form athlete trimmed 6secs of his previous best which was set on the same course last month..

ULSTER JUNIOR

CHAMPIONSHIPS

Connor McQuillan was in action in the Ulster Championships at the newly refurbished Mary Peters track on Sunday and narrowly missed out on the medals when he finished in 4th place. Running in the 3000 metres Connor finished outside his best in 9mins 1sec.
