Cailum ready for German Grand Prix

Thirteen year old Loughbrickland motocross rider Cailum Meara jets off this week for the third round of the Honda 150 European Championship at the German track of Teuschenthal near Leipzig.

After missing round 2 of the series with a broken collarbone, Cailum will be hoping to record a good result to grab the attention of the series promoters, and also his own sponsors.

Cailum impressed the Honda top brass in Valkenswaard with his speed on Sunday morning after recording third fastest time before a freak low speed fall snapped his collar bone, now recovered after spending time in an oxygen chamber to speed up the healing process, Cailum now heads east with plenty of confidence.

To show their appreciation of the youngster’s efforts, the North Armagh Motorcycle and Car Club Off Road Section presented Cailum with a commenorative polo shirt for travelling to and from the events on Saturday at their Irish Motocross Championship round.

The Club wish the Mary Peters Trust assisted young athlete all the best for his debut at the German Grand Prix this weekend.
