Caitlin leads St Brigid’s to title

ST Brigid’s won the Allianz Cumann Na mBunscol Primary School Girls Gaelic football tournament when they beat Mount St Michael’s Randalstown in last week’s final at the Antrim Forum.

Led brilliantly by top scorer Caitlin McGaughey - who scored 19 of her team’s 21 goals throughout the tournament - St Brigid’s got the better of their opponents in extra time after the sides had ended normal time on 2 goals each.

In the semi-finals St Brigid’s beat Glenravel Primary School by 4 goals to 1 while in the other semi Mount St Michael’s edged out St Mary’s PS Cargan 4-3 in extra time after the sides ended normal time tied on 2 goals apiece.
