Callum McIlroy tops the field at Larne's Junior parkrun

Larne junior parkrun had a record number of 86 young athletes turn up for Sunday's race in the Town Park.

First over the line and for the fifth time in five appearances was Callum McIlroy (JM11-14) of North Belfast Harriers in a time of 8.03.

The next two males to finish were Harry Plumb (JM10) of East Coast Athletic Club, (4th overall, 08:43) and Bradley Rice (JM11-14) was third (6th overall, 08:44).

First over the line for the girls, and second overall, was Bradie Hogg (JW11-14) of East Coast AC in a new personal best time of 08:04. Bradie has finished as first female three times in five appearances.

The next two females to finish were Keeva Bell (JW11-14) (third overall, 08:40) and Hannah Clements (JW10) of East Coast AC (5th overall, 08:44).

There was a big junior parkrun welcome to first-timers, Matthew Erwin, Jack Erdis, Sophia McFaul, Georgia McFetridge, Ben Erdis, Ella Agnew, Niamh Erdis, Sophie Glass, Erika Glass, Daisy-May Kellett and Josiah Dickson.

There was a fantastic 21 personal best achieved by the juniors. These included: Bradie Hogg, Keeva Bell, Bradley Rice, Robbie Irwin, Logan Graham, Linton Torbitt, Christopher Shaw, Carter Linton, Amber Marcus, Jay McHendry, Ellie Torbitt, Sophie Scates, Ralph Wilson, Luke Marcus, Hannah Mellon, Emily Rice, Lewis McHendry, Ross McNeill, Mia O’Flaherty, Matthew Hutchinson and Sophie Scates.

Larne Junior parkrun is open to all kids aged from 4 to 14 years old. It is free event and happens at the Town Park every Sunday at 9:30 am. All you need to do is register with parkrun to get a barcode for anyone who wants to take part.
