Came back from two goals down

SUNNYSIDE under 14s came from two goals down to win 3-2 against Glentoran on Saturday in the Lisburn League.

The Lurgan side started the brighter with Josh Durnin going close and Shane McNamee hitting the post.

But Glentoran hit back on the break to take the lead after ten minutes and soon afterwards they made it 2-0.

Sunnyside kept pressing with new signing Michael McClory proving a handful and his cross was turned in by a defender to leave the score 2-1 at half-time.

Sunnyside took complete control for 20 minutes in the second half. A Shane McNamee shot was saved only for McClory to nip in and bring the sides level at 2-2.

Loughran, McWilliams and Durnin on the left hand side were creating chances and when Durnin played in McClory his cross found Tiarnan McCann who headed home from six yards.

Glentoran threatened in the final ten minutes and had the ball in the net only to be ruled out for offside.

But Sunnyside had shown why they are the reigning champions by staging a fine comeback with new signing Michael McClory from Belfast looking to be a good find.
