Cameron claims McCaughey Cup

PORTSTEWART'S John Cameron slumped to a double bogey six at the third hole on Saturday but still returned a strong 21 points on the front nine.

This included four points for his birdie 3 at the ninth. Another slump at the par three 12th did not deter John as he again birdied the last hole of the nine to total 40 points and get his name on the McCaughey Cup.

Countback came into play to push Robert Murphy into runner-up spot. Robert scored well out with two four pointers, (5 and 9) resulting in 23 for the front. Robert could not better the course coming in, 17 points scored, but did enough to keep second place.
