Campbell bird is fastest in the Section C ratings

The N.I.P.A. were in Clonmel for the fourth old bird race of the season. The birds were liberated on Saturday at 10.45am into a light North East wind. The weather conditions were very good and the race was another tight event with the leading velocities touching 1375 ypm.

Section C:

Another super race for the Ligoniel club, topping the section for yet another week and lifting 10th Open against 28.688 birds for good measure.

This week’s winner of the Hottest Club In The Section is Billy Campbell, whose latest winner is a super two-year-old blue cock, flown roundabout, which won the corresponding race last season. He is a winner also of 2nd Section, 15th Open Tullamore and was also in the prizes in last season’s 5 Bird Championship. Breeding: Luc Van Hoeke x Nells Van De Poel (via Joe Watt – Ligoniel).

Their 3rd-placed bird was bred off a pair of bred by Fernlea Lofts ( D & J Campbell & Bigger) and is a grandchild of Fernlea Squadron Leader.
