Can they be the Kings of Ulster?

There is a big weekend ahead for Tyrone sides Errigal Ciaran, Cookstown and Brackaville as they go in search of Ulster crowns in their respective championship grades.

The big draw on Sunday will be the clash of county champions Errigal Ciaran with Derry champions and 2002 All Ireland club champions Ballinderry.

The two clubs enjoyed a number of ferocious contests over the last decade and Sunday’s tie in Healy Park, Omagh plans to be a fiercely fought tie.

The curtain raiser for Sunday’s game is the meeting of Brackaville and Antrim Junior champions, Ardoyne Kickhams.

The Tyrone champions will be optimistic of their chances in Ulster and keen to follow in the footsteps of last year’s county Junior champions, Derrytresk who followed up their county title with provincial success.

Sunday’s other encounter will pitch Cookstown back into action in the Ulster Intermediate series.

After success at this level in 2009, the Fr Rock’s expectation may well have been high but a quarter final meeting with Armagh side Killeavy may be enough for those expectations to be tempered.

Killeavy, currently riding high in the Armagh senior league, are led by former Allstar Stephen McDonnell and will present Cookstown with a great challenge if they are to regain the Ulster title.
