Cancer Research annual fun run

Chief organiser, Mervyn Ferris, has done a marvellous job for the past five years of the event, encouraging local sportsmen and women along with family members to come out in support.

Top runners from the Springwell Running Club will be taking part and Coleraine manager, Oran Kearney, is just one of the leading sportsmen who will be attending to lend his support.

Mr. Ferris has also managed to persuade Coleraine and Ballymena United players to join in the 5K run. For those less keen to complete that distance, a gentle jog along the Park will be sufficient.

As ever, Mr. Ferris is hoping for good sponsorship and the first 50 people who turn up on the night with a minimum of £20 will receive free T-shirts.

Mr. Ferris commented: “We get good backing from those attached to the various sporting clubs in the area as well as from ordinary family members and for that we are very grateful.”
