Carey Faughs set for Castaway adventure
Fourteen daring participants are being shipped off to Rathlin Island from 14th- 16th August where there skills and sense of adventure will be tested to the full.
The Castaways will be set a number of challenges on both the Saturday and Sunday, so it really will be survival of the fittest.

Hide AdThe Castaways are: Órla Brennan, Niambh Butler, Vincent Butler, Chris Cambell, Dolores Hunter, Nat Hunter, Paddy McAlonan, Gerard McAuley, Ann McBride, Pat McCambridge, Chris McCormick, Lucia McCormick, Maeve McCouig and Randal McDonnell.
The Castaways have all been set a mission to raise at least £500 per person prior to the event. Each participant will have sponsor sheets and ‘Just Giving’ pages.
So far the itinery set out for the Castaways is:
FRIDAY
Meet at the Promenade Cafe at Ballycastle Seafront on the Friday evening to have the ‘Last Supper’ before setting sail to Rathlin on the last boat. Once they have disembarked they willhave to pitch their tents.
SATURDAY
There are three challenges which will take place, all of which will be recorded.

Hide AdThe videos of the challenges will be screened in Hunters bar on Saturday night. At this stage it will allow everyone to see how all the castaways are all doing and it will give them a chance to vote for their favourites.
SUNDAY
There will be another challenge on Sunday morning after Mass. Following this six of the Castaways will go home. The remaining 6 will have their last challenge to complete with the winning two remaining on the island until the end.
Following the return of all Castaways a BBQ/ Disco will take place on Sunday night where the Carey Castaway King or Queen will be announced. Voting can continue to take place right up until Sunday night.
There will be a number of fundraising events in the run up to ‘Carey Castaway’ which will hopefully be well supportewd by everyone.
