Carn Wheelers take on a capital challenge

CARN Wheelers had 13 keen cyclists gathering up at 5am on Sunday morning to join in with the CCC crew on their first leg to Dublin. Nearly 40 cyclists in total left Cookstown, headed towards Dublin city centre and then onto Dublin Port to see the 18 CCC members off, a distance about 115 miles.

It was an incident free cycle for all involved, with a high average being recorded until we reached the middle of Dublin where it became less than walking pace with the volume of traffic. However after some friendly conversation from two local Garda members who were spotted in a Transit van, we got a police escort right through the city and onto Dublin Port.

Well done to all and Good Luck for the rest of the journey! There will be regular updates on the club website. Also, see www.capitalcyclechallenge.com for details of their challenge.
