Castle make it two in a row in the First Division

CASTLE Bar B 6-2 First & Last B - The Castle bar claimed back to back First Division championships with a well oiled display against The First & Last on Tuesday night.

It was never really a contest despite the nerves of the home team as P Teggart, R Fitzpatrick and E Maney all won their matches to give the home side a 3-0 lead.

P Lyness pulled a frame back for the visitors but that only put the champaign on hold as Colly McSherry restored the three frame advantage in the next and the all important winning frame went to F Larkin who clinched the title in the sixth frame.

O’Reilly’s 4-4 Mulholland’s - Mulholland’s knew to have any chance of catching Cullen’s for the runner up spot they would have to come away from Banbridge with both points and the Tandragee side would have to slip up at home to The Anglers.

Neither of these happened as they found themselves up against a determined O’Reilly’s side.

It all started off very well for Mulholland’s as B Hawthorne and S Wilson gave the visitors a 2-0 lead.

The match was quickly level after S Conlon and M Gartland pulled out two great wins.
