Causeway Archers on target at Dunloy Cuchullains centre

Dunloy Cuchullains Sports Academy added a new string to their bow recently when they hosted a 30m indoor target archery competition (pictured above).

The competition took place on Saturday 16th June and was run by the Causeway Archers from Ballymoney.

Although the Causeway Archers have both an indoor 18m and an outdoor full Olympic 90m facility at The Range Archery Centre on the Drumskea Rd Ballymoney, it is rare to be able to shoot indoors at 30 & 40 meters.

The competition was won by Chris MacFadyen with Alan Bradley coming second followed by Paul O’Hara in third place.

There was an elimination round at the end of the shoot with Paul O’Hara just beating Chris MacFadyen in the final by one point.

The competition was a first at this venue but hopefully not the last. The indoor facility at Dunloy Sports Academy is ideally suited to this Olympic sport. Chris MacFadyen, chair of the Causeway Archers, would like to thank their gracious hosts at Dunloy for all their help in running this event and is looking forward to future events in partnership with Dunloy Cuchullains.
