Cecil is champion of fairways at Gracehill

After a steady front eight which produced 17pts Cecil then got an eagle 3 at the 12th then another eagle 3 at the 15th followed by a birdie 3 at the 17th. Morris Peden playing off 12 was 2nd with 34pts.

With only 15pts for the front eight Morris then got his act together on the final stretch playing the last four holes in two under with birdies at the 16th and 18th.

Due to the strong finish of Morris, Trevor Milliken (7) who also had 34pts had to settle for 3rd.

In Division Two Mervyn McKeeman playing off 15 was in magnificent form taking first place with 38pts. His front 8 produced 17pts, while his back 8 was scintillating with only 2 dropped shots for 21pts.

Chris Downing playing off 16 was runner-up with 36pts. Chris played his usual commanding game but even with birdies at the 15th and 16th it just wasn’t enough to catch Mervyn. Willy McQuistion (18) was 3rd with 34pts. Randal McDonnell collected the gross prize with 28pts.

* Sunday Sweep - Lee Munnis playing off 18 produced an impressive performance on the Sunday over 16 holes taking 1st prize with 39pts. After being 2 under his card for the front 8 Lee stepped up his desire and motivation over the final holes, playing the last 4 in 1 under par. Steven Tweed playing off 15 was 2nd with 37pts.

After an indifferent front 8 Steven then produced a remarkable run of figures over the closing holes finishing birdie, par, birdie, par, birdie! Mervyn Nicholl (28) was 3rd with 37pts. Ian Morrison picked up the gross prize with 30 pts.
