Challenging conditions for Portrush Parkrunners

It was a cold morning on Saturday for Portrush parkrun and there was a touch of snow with some hail but, by far the biggest challenge, was the gale force headwind on the return 2.5k leg which reduced many runners to a walking pace.

The high tide left very little sand but just enough to run on and no more, in some places.

Junior runner Abi Smyth was congratulated on completing her 50th parkrun and Sharon Kennedy and Jackie Cunningham on completing their 100th.

This week there were 94 runners, of whom 8 were first timers and 1 recorded a new Personal Best. Representatives of 7 different athletics clubs took part.
