Charity show at Iveagh Club

THE Iveagh Branch of the Pony Club is hosting a very special Halloween Charity Show at Moyallen on October 29 and has something for everyone – from the very tiniest of tiny tots to the most competitive rider.

Proceeds from this monster size show will support the vitally important field of spinal research. The show is open to everyone – not just Pony Club members.

Over 800 people a year are paralysed in the UK and too many of these are from horse riding accidents. Paralysis does not only mean being unable to walk, but depending on the part of the spinal cord that is injured it can cause loss of movement in arms and hands, the inability to breathe on your own and perhaps the worst of all, the loss of independence.

“During my eventing career I was very fortunate not to have a really serious accident. Sadly not everyone is as lucky as I was and failing to finish the course that day is the least of their problems. Some 800 people in the UK every year are left in a wheelchair, or worse. I decided to support Spinal Research to give paralysed people hope for the future - please get involved and do the same,” said Ginny Elliot, Saddle Up Patron

Spinal Research funds vitally important research into spinal cord repair, the long term aim being to get people who are paralysed walking and riding again. Your support will give hope to horse riders who have been paralysed and help turn their dream of walking into a reality. Your attendance is needed in order to make this wonderful event a huge success!
