Children’s 1K runcoming to Waterside

Following fast on the heels of last week’s successful Kids 1K run at the Bay Road, its the Waterside Greenway this Wednesday.

The action gets underway at 7pm and it’s the next qualifying run to participate in the Mini Marathon at the June 1st SSE Airtricity Walled City Marathon.

Places for up to 500 nine to 17 year olds have been reserved for the June Mini Marathon with participation in at least one of the four qualifying runs the criteria to be met.

So far at Gransha and Bay Road the turn out has been good but with time running out this Wednesday at the Waterside Greenway. There is no entry fees for these runs, just turn up, sign on and run.

Wednesday evening’s Headquarters will be at St Columbs Park House where entries will be taken from 6pm.

Meanwhile the fourth and final qualifier is on Wednesday, May 7th from the Long Tower Centre, entry again from 6pm and run starts at 7pm.

The course will be along the traffic free ‘Out the Line’ former Railway line on the Letterkenny Road, close to the Long Tower Centre.
