Terry McMaster’s side host Sundays Well this Saturday (KO 2.30pm) as they aim to get back to winning ways after suffering three AIL league defeats in a row.

The Judges Road men are top of the league seven points ahead of The Well in second place with both teams having played the same number of games.

City of Derry defeated Sundays Well when the teams met down in Cork in the AIL at the end of September.

In that game the Cork men led 9-6 at half-time and were still leading 12-6 midway through the second half as they reverted to type and their big forwards produced driving rugby that tested Derry’s spirit and resolve.

Derry responded and produced three late tries to win the game.

This will be a big game for both teams on Saturday as Derry hope to get back to winning ways following their three recent defeats and maintain their position at the top of the league and automatic promotion.

Sundays Well will be hoping for victory to keep them vying for a top four finish to get into a playoff for promotion also. A big crowd is expected to witness a titanic contest.

Meanwhile Sunday will be a big day for Women’s Rugby in Ulster when the Senior Finals will be played at Judges Road.

The afternoon gets underway at 12.30pm when the Shield Final sees local team City of Derry take on Enniskillen and the Plate Final has Carrickfergus playing Cavan.

The Senior Cup Final commences at 2.30pm when Cooke playing Queens University for The Rosie Stewart Memorial Bowl.
