Clann Eireann go for yet more gloryon Sunday

The Clanns have already won the All County Feile title, collected the Under 16 crown and lifted the Intermediate Championship at senior level along with the Division 2 title this year, and although the Lake Street side lost by a single point to Crossmaglen in the Minor final their contribution on the day warmed their supporters and indeed the neutrals in attendance who witnessed one of the best games seen at the venue in recent times.

At the Athletic Grounds on Sunday Clann Eireann, bolstered by several senior players will be fancied to bring another trophy back to their club to sustain a run which under any circumstances has been remarkable.

The Lurgan club, which has been rewarded for several years of thorough coaching at youth level, is reaping the rewards for their efforts at grassroots.

Shane O’Neill’s will be tough opposition, but the Lurgan side have in their line-out players who have already tasted success this season at senior level.At midfield Shay Hefferon and John Magee will form a competitive pairing and James McDade who scored 2-02 in the semi-final win over Ballymacnab will be joined by his team mates from the senior final including Adam Kelly, Barry McCambridge and Johnny Tarode.

Clann Eireann can also rely on a host of experienced minor players like Ryan Owens, Dylan Hatton, Conal O’Carroll, Conor McConville and the slightly more experienced Jack Wilson.
