Clann Eireann Youth team cyclists impress

Clann Eireann Youth team have been building an impressive haul of results in recent weeks.

In April the team travelled to Drogheda for the Ras Na nog. In the under 16 event Declan Mullholland’s best place was third in the first stage finishing just outside the top ten. In the under 14 category Ethan Flaville finished 5th and Liam Wilson managed to finish 6th despite crashing on stage two. Peadar Quinn and Joseph Lavelle produced strong performances in the under 14 event against a competitive field. In the under 12 category Aaron Heaney finished second with Ruairi Grimes finishing just outside the top ten followed by James Mulholland and Erin O’Neill. The under 12 team were beaten by the narrowest of margins into second place for the team 
prize.

The youth team brought this great form into the Beggs/McGreevey Memorial at Dromore the following Saturday with Declan Mullholland taking the win in the under 16 race, Ethan Flaville and Liam Wilson chalking up another second and third in the under 14 race with Aaron Heaney and Ruairi Grimes finishing second and sixth in the under 12 event. Aaron and Ethan also travelled to Cookstown the following day with Ethan taking another second place with Aaron scoring the win this time.Last Sunday saw another commanding performance at the Emyvale GP, with the under 12 team taking a clean sweep with Aaron Heaney first, Ruairi Grimes second and James Mullholland third. Erin O’Neill also scored an impressive 5th place.
