Clanns’ Declan a clear winner

CLANN Eireann’s Declan Mulholland was a clear winner in the final Crit at the outlet in Banbridge last Friday.

He escaped early in the race with fellow 2020 Irish talent team member Mark Downey and sharing the workload they quickly build up a huge lead.

Coming to the finish Declan displayed his considerable sprinting prowess and lunging at the line he took a memorable win ahead of his breakaway companion.

Fellow Clannsman Jerome Donnelly also rode very strongly in the A4 race being very active throughout the race and challenging for all the primes.

Earlier in the week Declan displayed his ever improving time trialling ability by coming a very close second in the 10 mile Inter Club League event held at the Derrymacash circuit and recorded a personal best time on a challenging course in difficult conditions. Other Clannsmen riding strongly included Harry Martin, Jerome Donnelly and Barry Grimes.

Fresh from shattering the All-Ireland Elite and Veteran 50 mile TT record John Heverin recorded a winning time of 20.20 at the Ballydonaghy 10 mile time trial event to win by almost a minute from second placed R. Davison from TVR.
