Clans name new bosses

A NEW management team has been put in place at Clan na Gael.

Former Blues players Kevin O’Hagan and John Campbell have been given the job of steering the Clans back to top flight football this season.

Kevin was in charge of St Paul’s last season along with Finty McConville and was also part of the Clans under 21 management structure along with Paul O’Hagan, Jim McKerr and Brendan Campbell.

John Campbell has been widely recognised as one of the best players at Davitt Park of his generation and he and Kevin O’Hagan will bring a wealth of experience to the job.

There were signs this season that the younger players at Davitt Park were ready to make a breakthrough.

At under 21 level the Clans could have won the championship but were missing at least four first team players when beaten in extra time by eventual champions, St Pat’s, Cullyhanna.

Last season Clan na Gael were relegated along with Carrickcruppin but are well capable of bouncing straight back to the top flight.

With Davitt Park ready to host games this season following development work, the Clans will be hoping that their new management can oversee another successful period in the club’s history.
