The contest has always been a tightly fought battle but for the past two years Ballymoney man Colin McCrellis has remained victorious and is training harder than ever to retain the coveted title of Northern Ireland’s Strongest Man Under 90kg!

Contest organiser and former four-time Ireland’s Strongest man Dave Warner said: “This will be the hardest heaviest contest ever qualifier this year - with challengers already breaking 90kg records in training and focussing on the ‘All Ireland’ Title and passage to the British Championships later in the year, the 90kg class has become the most exciting weight class in strongman.

“We have the two best referees in Northern Ireland - Sam Graham( seven-time world powerlifting champ) and Martin Campbell (two-time Ireland’s strongest man & Britain’s strongest man competitor).

“This year the contest will have World’s Strongest Man-style equipment - Giant Dumbbell, Girder walk with massive steel girders, 400kg tyre flip, Hyper Yoke and other events, six in total.

The top five competitors go through to the All Irelands in Carlow.

Excitement is guaranteed and it’s an event for the whole family and last year’s crowd really raised the roof of the Joey Dunlop Centre.

Everyone is welcome. Entry is £5 for adults & £2 for kids (free for tots).
