Cockram bags a hat-trick as Garvey win in Donegal

Lisnagarvey began their new season with a long trip to Raphoe last Tuesday night but made their journey well worth while with a 7-1 victory.

A mid-week match in Donegal is always going to be difficult but Garvey were into their stride quickly and were four goals ahead at the interval.

Raphoe did score early in the second half but goals by Timmy Cockram (3), Daniel Buser, James Dowling , Greg Thompson and the returning Jason Lynch saw them through to a more than comfortable win.

Their next match in the group series is against Civil Service at Stormont on Tuesday while the other two games are at home against Belfast Harlequins on Tuesday September 24 and Annadale on October 1.

Captain Johnny Bell is very hopeful of qualifying for the semi final stages in October with Annadale being the most difficult match in the programme.
