Cold start forClady and District Angling Club

The 2013 fishing season has got off to a very cold start, the first competition of the season for the Clady & District Cup was held on March 6.

A good turnout of anglers braved the cold conditions with C. Graffin winning with two trout for 1lb 4ozs, runner up S. Bradley with two trout for 1lb 2ozs.

The Pickwick Angling Club will be visiting on the 6th April for the annual Pickwick Cup competition all club members are encouraged to turnout and support the club on the day.

Members are also reminded that membership fees for the 2013 season should paid by the 31st March. Anglers must carry ID and a DCAL licence at all times while fishing.

On the 17th April in conjunction with Pol Maccana, Carntogher Community Association there will be a Talk & Workshop on Aquatic Invasive Plant Species by John Early from the NIEA commences 7pm in the clubhouse.

This meeting is open to all members of the public and we would especially welcome club members, farmers, landowners and anyone who is interested in stopping the spread of invasive species like the giant hogweed and Japanese knotwood to attend.
