Coleraine Anglers Association hold Annual General Meeting

COLERAINE Anglers Association held its annual general meeting in the Montra Club, Coleraine.

Over 40 members attended. In his report the secretary reported an excellent season on Dunalis reservoir with plenty of good trout taken and excellent water quality.

Some of the trout almost trebled their weight during the season to weigh up to 6lbs. More trout will be stocked in March and April to hopefully get the season off to a good start.

Members carried out some work last weekend cutting brambles etc to make access a bit easier. Despite the cold weather some trout were seen rising.

The treasurer’s report showed the club to be in a healthy financial position with an increase in membership last year.

In the club competitions Brian Culbert was the Club Champion for the year just beating Garry Stewart with Adam Dorrans the Best Junior.

As well as trophies the winners received vouchers presented by Smyth’s Country Sports.

The chairman, David Harkness thanked last year’s committee and wished all the members a successful 2010 season.
