Coleraine Cougars are Ulster champions!

COLERAINE Cougars Special Olympics Club, Men’s Senior Basketball Team became Ulster Regional Champions on Saturday 9 March at Antrim forum.

A fantastic day of fun and competition saw the team come through their division undefeated and ultimately win against a very strong North West team defeating them 24-8 in the gold medal match. The team produced some outstanding displays of team defence and attack with some individual flair threw in for the large crowd of spectators. This is a fantastic achievement for a club who are only seven months in existence.

The good news did not stop there however; in the Junior Individual Basketball Skills section the club won nine medals and two placement ribbons from a strong field of skilled basketball players. The medal count included three Gold, three silver, three Bronze and a fourth and fifth place finish. The club would like to congratulate all the athletes who participated on their success.
