Coleraine eyeing Junior Cup for fifth time!

Ballymoney Bowling Club is the venue this Saturday as Coleraine B take on Limavady in the Junior Cup.

Coleraine are in search of their fifth Junior Cup victory, but they know it will be a tough test.

Coleraine B have won four Irish Junior Cup titles – beating Woodvale B in 1914, Falls B in 1984, Bangor B in 1994 and Falls B in 1996.

The squad haven’t been to a final since 1996 – so this weekend, they will be out to end 18 years of hurt.

Their opponents, Limavady have never reached an Irish Junior Cup final before, and as a matter of fact, it will be Limavady’s top team who will be facing the Bannsiders, since they were relegated from the top flight in 2012.

Limavady lost out to Downpatrick in the semi-final of the Junior Cup last year, whilst Coleraine B lost out away to Skerries in the third round.

The Lodge Road Juniors best run in recent times was a quarter final defeat to Antrim in 2009.

Captain Sam McArthur is full of praise for his team as they eye an amazing quadruple.

The side defeated Limavady in the final of the Sutherland Cup, they are currently leading Cookstown B by eight points in Division One and they have a semi-final against Magherafelt to play in the Cupples Cup.
