Coleraine Under 11's go down fighting

COMMITMENT and determination are the only words to describe the Coleraine Alexandra Under-11's performance away to Maiden City Youth on Saturday.

From the start it was a very even match, Maiden City tried hard to get through the Coleraine defence which held firm with Gavin Elder, Dylan Godfrey, Dylan Hull and Krystof Silakowski all playing their part in keeping most of Maiden City's shots to long distance efforts.

A lot of the play in the first half was in the middle of the pitch with chances limited to just snap shots from Issac Dunn and Joel Lall playing up front for Coleraine. Maiden City did finally get the break through after 20 minutes with a snap shot of their own and just before the break they added a second.

At the start of the second half Coleraine did have chances when Issac Dunn went through on goal but his shot was easily saved by the Maiden City keeper. With about 10 minutes to go Maiden City grabbed a third, however Brandon Stockman made a couple of good saves for Coleraine to keep it at 3-0 at the final whistle.

It was a fantastic performance by Coleraine although they lost the game the young team have really improved since they started playing together just a few weeks ago. Man of the Match today goes to all the players in the Coleraine Team, they played really well fighting for every ball, tracking back and closing the Maiden City players down throughout the game.

U10’s

Coleraine Academy Under-10’s recorded a 2-0 win over Bertir Peacocks Two on Saturday.

Coleraine made a very slow start and it was an even game with few chances being created keeping the score 0-0 at half-time. The Academy finally went ahead when Kori Doherty’s shot curled brilliantly from far out. Their lead was increased when Scott Weir scored from ten yards.

Man of the Match: Kori Doherty.
