Colin wins Cornish endurance race

LARNE-born Colin Lough recently won the 60-mile Ultra Track South West Endurance Race in Cornwall.

He ran from Pendeen beach near Lands End, along the South West coastal path to Watergate Bay, just north of Newquay, in 10 hours, 30 minutes - an hour and two minutes faster than the second-placed man.

Colin ran his first long-distance race only last year in the Comrades 54-miler in Durban, South Africa. He conquered the course, rising from sea level to 2,000ft, in seven hours, being placed 750th in a field of 19,000 runners.

More recently, he ran the Belfast marathon in two hours 50 minutes, finishing 31st.

Colin now lives in Newbury, Berkshire, with his wife Sandra and their 19-month-old daughter Chloe.
