Colm shoots best score in the Saturday Sweep

SATURDAY JANUARY 30 - This was not a great day for golf. It was extremely cold and the putting surfaces were frozen.

But that did not deter a large number of hardy souls from venturing out.

Colm McGreevey, that sharpshooter from Annaclone, shot the best score of the day, a brilliant 37 points.

But the shot of the day was hit by Trevor Mulholland from Dromore. His wedge shot at the difficult par three, 12th hole sailed sweetly over the tall trees, landed softly on the green and trickled slowly into the hole.

It was the first hole in one of the 2010 season.

Trevor was delighted and rightly so. To hit that green requires a lot of skill and a modicum of luck. To get an ace is just unbelievable. Congratulations Trevor!

SECTION 11-17: 1st, Joe Glass (16) 36; 2nd, Paul Cochrane (12) 33; 3rd, Alan Caughey (13) 33.
