Confirmation of full grid at Armoy Races

ARMOY organisers have confirmed that all classes for this weekend’s 2013 RiverRidge Recycling Race of Legends are full, with over 150 riders registering for ten fantastic races.

Bill Kennedy, Clerk of the Course, said: “We’ve definitely got an outstanding number of entries this year with a massive entry list for the two stroke racing alongwith a great mix of big-name riders and teams as well as international newcomers and some up and coming local talent.

“The Bayview Hotel 125 cc which includes some of our very own home grown talent has newcomers Anders Larsson from Sweden and Rene Lohse from Germany. ChristianElkin and Daley Mathison will also be among the mix. The Centra Ballymoney 250cc race also has a large entry with English riders Kevin Strowger and Phil Harvey.

“We really are blown away by the numbers interested in entering across all the classes, and sadly have had to turn quite a few away. If we’d known there were going to be these numbers we could have maybe organised to run an A and B class for some of the races – which is something we will definitely think about for next year!”

Practice races take place on Friday 26th July with racing getting underway on Saturday 27th July with the 125 GPsponsored by The Bayview Hotel and the JW Hickinson & Co 450 Moto followed by the Armoy Homes & The Mermaid Club, Junior Support Race.

Action continues with the Moyle Council 600 SuperSport, Ballymoney Borough Council, Junior Classic and the SGS International Superbike Open Race.

A packed afternoon follows with the Armoy Supporters Club and G&G Ross Quarries sponsored Senior Classics, Centra Ballymoney 250cc, and Diamond Bar 400cc before the Armoy Construction & Park Electrical Services Senior Support.

“And if that isn’t enough for fans, we also have world championship rider Jeremy McWilliams making his Armoy debut in the 650 SuperTwins sponsored by Roadside Garage, Vauxhall,” said Kennedy.
