Connor a relative newcomer to the sport has been a member of Ballymena’s Fit N Running training group for just over a year.

During that period he raced sparingly and trained maturely opting to dedicate his sessions to developing his running technique using a wide range of strength conditioning programmes.

His progress to date has seen him develop an efficent stride pattern through all the gears and a finishing kick akin to that of a track runner.

He travelled to the South of France well prepared for the arduous challenge which included over 2000 metres of Climbing. He maintained a steady pace throughout and moved through the field after the first hour in an effort which saw him gain over 400 places.

From an overall entry of over 2000 runners Connor finished in a creditable 448th position in 5hours 21mins 19secs. Connor is now taking a well earned break before embarking on his next challenge.
