Connor takes the Scratch Cup with the only under par score of the day

The low handicap golfers played for the Reavey Scratch Cup last Saturday and, despite not being off the back sticks, Connor Doran did well to take top spot.

Unfortunately, due to delays, it was played from the forward tees under winter rules.

That does not take away anything from Connor’s winning performance.

Connor went round in a two under par gross 67 and he won by three clear shots from the field.

Eugene Weir and Rory Madeley are two of the most consistent players in Banbridge Golf Club and they both shot excellent rounds.

Eugene was runner-up with a gross 70 and Rory was beaten into third on countback, having also come in with a 70.

The best nett prize went to the chief organiser, Paul McAleavey, who, playing off seven, had an impressive nett 65.
