Conor in fine form in 10k event on north coast

Fit N Running athlete Conor Shiels was in fine form on Thursday evening as he claimed 6th place at the North Coast 10k in Portrush.

This superbly well organized event was one with a difference as it incorporated a long run along the East Strand beach.

It was never going to be a fast course due to the sand and undulating course. Conor however coped well and crossed the line in 38mins 7secs. There was an overall entry of 177 runners.

Fit N Running are starting a new class on Monday, July 25 (6.15-7.30pm) in the grounds of the Ballymena North Centre on the Cushendall Road. It is suitable for everyone from 12 years of age and beginners through to elite performers from all sports. The course will teach proper running and movement techniques in all planes of motion. It will improve basic speed, strength power, balance, Co-ordination, stability, endurance, acceleration and deceleration.

To ensure the fun element it will adopt a boot camp circuit format. In addition to the above benefits the nature and design of the functional movement program will help all participants to develop a more durable and injury resistant body.

Pre-enrolment is not necessary due to the holiday period. Quite simply turn up on the night. Cost is £3 per night.
