Continued run of good form

ST Patrick’s continued their run of good form and improved their league position with this nine shot victory.

On mat one for the Aghgallon side skip Bobby Walsh, Geraldine Tallon, Shane Russell and Ann Tallon picked up a six shot in the fifth end to go into a 9-6 lead.

The Lisburn four under skip P. Logan fought back to go into the last end confident of victory with their 12-11 lead.

But the Aghagallon skip Bobby Walsh was relieved to score a single shot to share the league point on a 12-12 scoreline.

Chris Connolly, Genny Little, Molly McBarron and Freddie Russell on two never gave the Lisburn rink under skip V. Wigton a chance to settle and they won the first four ends to go into a healthy 10-0 lead.

The Lisburn foursome won four of the last five ends but the St Patrick’s four ran out 11-7 winners to build up a four shot lead at the interval.

On mat three for Aghagallon Eamon Hamill, Una Corey, Rota Hamill and Martha Fitzpatrick showed good form to go 8-0 ahead after four ends.

The Lisburn rink under skip I. Robinson fought back strongly to reduce the gap to 8-6 with two ends left.

Both rinks claimed two shots each as the Aghagallon four held on for a 10-8 victory.

Marie Corey, Brian Brown, Joe Lavery and Ciara Haughey on four for St Patrick’s just managed to score single shots in a low scoring start to lead 3-1.

The Lisburn rink under skip D. Moore made a strong challenge but the Aghagallon four managed to go on and win 5-2.
