Cookstown teams dominate in Section One

Clean sweeps for the two Cookstown clubs meant little change at the top of Section One.

Parochial took 11 points from Kildress while Cookstown High did likewise against Derryloran.

Below these two teams the rest of the league is much more competitive with all to play for. Maghera Pres did their cause no

harm with a 60–37 home win over St Mary’s but need to continue in that vein to move away from the relegation area.

Lafarge Community discovered very late that their hall was not available but rather than call off the game and get into the problem of re-arranging the game they offered to play their home game at St Joseph’s whose hall was available. It was probably appropriate ion the circumstances that the game ended in a 41-41 draw.

Tamlaght continued to cement third spot with a narrow win at Moortown.

In Section Two, the clash between promotion chasing 1st Magherafelt and Lisnagleer ended in a home win for 1st Magherafelt and with St Swithin’s Mixed winning at Sperrin the two Magherafelt clubs are contesting the runner up spot behing Parochial B who had another win over St John’s.
