On New Year’s Eve, three marathon runners represented the club in the last event of the year hosted by East Antrim Marathon Series. The 26.2-mile course saw runners start at Jordanstown’s Loughshore Park, run to Holywood and then return to Loughshore.

Bobbie Irvine ran 3:46:31, Gillian Cordner 3:59:47 and Gary Connolly 4:02:47. This was a particularly special event for Cordner (inset) as it was her 100th marathon. Cordner, who only ran her first marathon in Belfast 2011, completed an amazing 69 marathons in 2014 alone and is the first female in Northern Ireland to become a member of the prestigious ‘100 Marathon club Ireland’, entitling her to wear the coveted ‘100 Marathon club vest’.
