Corner Bar claim title

LAST Thursday Night the Corner Bar Dungiven were crowned Eglinton & District Darts League champions after 22 league games.

The league as a whole would like to congratulate the Corner Bar team on deservedly becoming league champions with three points to spare in there first year in this strong and established league.

The champions were pushed all the way by last years champions the Rising Sun A who at the end pushed Corner Bar all the way and also deserve praise and credit.

Credit must go to all their players in alphabetical order - Paul Brown; Gerard Curley; Joe Donnelly (Captain); Sean Donnelly; Eamon McCusker; Paddy McElmoyle; Mickey Moore; Anthony O’Neill; Danny O’Neill and Damien Watters.

The league has overall had a successful year once again and also credit must be given to all the twelve teams who have taken part and had a part to play in its success.

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be the top half of league cup and bottom half of league cup and the draw and venues are as follows: Top Half Venue - Murphys Bar, Dungiven; (Preliminary) Rising Sun A vs Macons and the winners play Calablanca (Group 1); (Preliminary) Corner Bar vs John Ts and the winners play Donaghys (Group 2). The winners after two matches in both Group 1 and Group 2 will then meet in final.

Bottom Half Venue - Longfield Inn, Eglinton; (Preliminary) Drummond Hotel vs Eglinton CC B and the winners will play Eglinton CC A (Group 3); (Preliminary) Longfield B vs Longfield A and the winners will play Rising Sun B (Group 4); The winners after two matches in both Group 3 and Group 4 will then meet in final.

The following Thursday, May 3rd is the Eglinton & District Darts League Singles to be held in the Longfield Inn, Eglinton and further info on this can be found under Darts Eglinton on facebook and also local newspapers.

Last Saturday nights national lottery bonus ball winners was Eglinton CC B with No. 30 There are two weeks remaining in the national lottery league bonus ball for Saturday nights only.

The final monthly darts meeting of the season is on Monday, May 7th at 8.30pm sharp in Macons Bar, Claudy and all league teams must have monies returned owed to league at the latest this meeting including our end of season draw,

This draw will be held on the same night as this meeting and tickets are non refundable any not sold will be deduted from end of season winnings.

All teams are requested to bring numbers and money for end of season dinner dance on Friday, May 18th in the Longfield Inn, Eglinton so the cost per head etc. will be advertised further soon in local newspapers and under the Darts Eglinton page on facebook.
