Corner House Golf Club

BACK in October last year a poster was put up in a Cloughmills bar asking the question “Anyone interested in a golf society - please put your name down?” writes Bobby Gray.

By early January a meeting was called because of the response of the poster.

That night The Corner House golf Society was established. Now members have reached Captain’s day, the final Major Trophy of the season.

I must say “what a year”. We have worked throughout the year taking on new members as we went and can say that with 40+ active members, it’s been a great first year.

We had four different major trophies this year for our members to win, one being the charity open day where all golfers, friends and family where welcome to play. The charity was Motor Neurons Disease and the organisers were Kevin Kearns and family.

What a day. We had 52 golfers turn out who all need a pat on the back, the charity day raised an astonishing £8739 - brilliant.

The members would like to thank Tony O Hanlon for all his sponsorship.
