Could Jim be crowned King?

THURSDAY MARCH 11 - The way things are going Jim Ledlie could be a contender for the fictional title of the 'King of the Sweeps'.

This is Jim’s third win this season and, if you look further down, you will see where he notched up his fourth win.

Alan Dale, who was the ‘King of the Sweeps’ for the last two seasons, hasn’t even got started yet. He is recovering from a back injury and we all hope to see him out on the course very soon.

Colin Kennedy was smiling after this sweep, as he was the only player to score a two. That was a big bonus for Colin.

1st, Jim Ledlie (24) 35 points; 2nd, Neil Clydesdale (5) 34.

SATURDAY MARCH 13 - John J. Lennon set a new record for the 14 holes sweep last week of 40 points. Two players equalled that score this week.

Joe Glass and Harry Shannon both played superbly and it was a shame that they were both in the same section. Countback placed Joe first and Harry second.

SECTION 12-17: 1st, Joe Glass (16) 40; 2nd, Harry Shannon (13) 40; 3rd, Gary McCartney (13) 37.

SUNDAY MARCH 14 - Mel Hylands played the nine holes course in level par to win the coveted Sunday sweep. A strong finish ensured that Mel was placed ahead of Stephen Orr.

1st, Mel Hylands (11) Nett 31.5; 2nd, Stephen Orr (19) Nett 31.5; 3rd, Michael McGreevey (12) Nett 35.

MONDAY MARCH 15. Here we go again! Is there none capable of beating Jim Ledlie in the weekly sweeps? Jim seems to thrive over the shorter winter course. Maybe when we go onto the back sticks, he will not be so dominant. Time will tell!

1st, Jim Ledlie (24) 34; 2nd, Dennis Watt (17) 32.
