Could you be the next John Motson?

FOOTBALL fans take note! If you've always dreamed of being a commentator and think you could rub shoulders with the professionals then this is your opportunity! BBC Blast, in partnership with BBC Sport NI, has launched a new competition to give budding young football commentators the chance of a lifetime.

Blast offers unique creative learning experiences to young people aged 13-24 and will be covering four matches live from the 2010 Northern Ireland Milk Cup.

From Monday 26th – Thursday 29th July, a young crew will bring the silky skills of teams such as Northern Ireland and Manchester United to audiences all over the world via a live web stream on the BBC Blast NI and BBC NI Milk Cup sites. Based in Coleraine Showgrounds, live programmes will include match coverage, packages capturing the atmosphere of the competition, live interviews and of course, talented young commentators!

We're looking for two young people who are passionate about football to work with BBC Sport NI commentator Paul Gilmour, as you front BBC Blast NI's live international coverage of one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments anywhere in the world! If you're 13-24 and your football knowledge is up to scratch, visit www.bbc.co.uk/blastni/ to show off your skills by adding your own commentary to David Healy's famous strike against England back in 2005.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria;

l Player recognition

l Statistical knowledge (including evidence of preparation)

l Ability to capture the drama of the match

l Ability to relay sense of atmosphere and occasion

l Delivery and clarity of speech

l Use of initiative and judgement (including knowing when to let an image speak for itself)
