Council unveils annual summer fun coaching programme timetable

Ballymena Borough Council, through its Leisure, Human Resources and Cultural Services Department is pleased to announce its 10th Annual Summer Fun Coaching Programme kindly part funded by Department of Social Development and Ballymena Policing and Community Safety Partnership.

The sessions offer another action packed programme containing a host of activities for local children and young people to enjoy during the summer holidays.

The activities are organised through the Sports Development Unit of Ballymena Borough Council and managed through their Community Sport Programme.

So if you need a way to keep the children occupied in a safe and interactive way during summer holidays, then look no further!

Children aged 6-12 will be offered sessions including but not exclusive to:

* Fundamental Movement Skills

* Basketball

* Hockey

* Football

* Tennis

* Golf

* Rugby

* Cricket

* Volleyball

This year’s Multi-Sports Camps kick off in July and all the boys and girls involved will receive a certificate and medal for attending as well as drinks every day.

If that isn’t enough each age range will have selected winners for three awards to include:

* Player of the Week

* Most Improved Player

* Sportsperson of the Week

Activities are taking place in from 10am to 1pm, Monday to Friday and will be held at two venues:

7th to 11th July 2014 – Ballymena Showgrounds

21st to 25th July 2014 – Wakehurst MUGA

The sessions cost just £15 per week and if that wasn’t enough great value, for an additional £10, you can add daily swimming sessions, from 1pm to 3pm, in Seven Towers Leisure Centre.

That’s just £25, from Monday to Friday, for five hours activities per day.
