County Darts trials later this month in Dungiven

Anyone interested in darts should attend this trial for the opportunity to possibly make the county darts team panel this coming season after such a successful season last time out gaining promotion to the top division after winning a difficult division two quite comfortably in the end.

The team last year had a tremendous overall year and the structures are in place more now for

another successful season both for home and away games and the opportunity to throw in other darts competitions across Northern Ireland and possibly beyond.

There will be one trial only for the new team to be selected and it will be held on Saturday, August 31 in Murphys Bar, Dungiven a venue which is a popular darts bar among other things and has offered much support to the county darts team the last two years and beyond.

Registration of players in Murphys Bar, at the end of the month is from 12.30pm to 2pm and the trial matches will start shortly after 2pm.

There will be a entrance fee of only £3 per player on the day and this will guarantee each player a number of matches of 7 x 501 legs of darts against different opponents for an overall average at the trial.

The trial will ensure all darts players of all ages who come along on the day will get a fair share of games and the chance to put forward a good average to try and make the county darts panel of players which is selected totally on merit.

Being part of this Area 10 darts team can open doors to major competitions at up to a professional level in the darts circuit that players otherwise don’t get throwing in their own local leagues and its the chance to represent your county in a popular sport at the top level this year between September 2013 and March/April 2014.

This is an appeal for any ex-darts players or current darts players from all darts leagues or anyone generally interested in throwing darts for their county due to its popularity in the past.

Players are more than welcome from Derry/Londonderry, Limavady, Dungiven, Claudy, Feeney, Eglinton, Ballykelly, Greysteel and all other surrounding areas and basically open to all entrants on the day.
