CRICKET: Inst Under 14's beat Dalriada

COLERAINE Inst under 14 cricketers have beaten their derby rivals, Dalriada.

The game, played in Ballymoney saw Inst batting first. The Coleraine side got off to a good start, until Matthew Douglas fell for 14. Michael MacRaild was next to the crease. He looked in excellent form, and was lucky to be caught out for 15.

Calum Ferguson then joined Rishi Chopra, the pair played well together until Chopra was caught at the boundary by another great catch for a well made 55.

Ferguson was then bowled out, but Matthew Smyth came to the crease and didn't take long to get 10 runs in the last few overs. Inst ended up with 132.

In reply, Dalriada got off to a bad start as 2 wickets fell quickly from the bowling of Calum Ferguson and Michael MacRaild.

Dalriada were struggling to get going. Rishi Chopra took 7 wickets for 6 runs of 3.2 overs to leave Dalriada at 41 all out.

The under 14's now take on Strabane High School.
